The extension of the COS hall at ArcelorMittal Poland in Dąbrowa Górnicza included the prefabrication, delivery and assembly of approx. 170 tonnes of steel structure extension of the hall, approx. 46 m high, with crane beams and crane track Q = 500t/300t. The adopted assembly technology consisted in putting together larger roof structure packages at the ground level with a weight of about 20 tonnes and dimensions of about 18 m x 15 m x 4 m (L x W x H) in order to assembly the roof structure at a height of about 46 m using a crane (Q = 500 tonnes and basket lifts H = 58 m) within a few days. The works were carried out in two stages: the first stage in 2017 consisted in the manufacture and initial assembly, and the second stage consisted in the final assembly, which was performed in mid-2018.
